I am a computer scientist, currently working as an IT consultant at Netcompany.
I enjoy designing software solutions and figuring out the best solution to problems. Both on the scale of bugs, new features and entire IT systems. Professionally, I have mostly worked with C# but also various other technologies mentioned in the skills section. Privately, I mostly use python as a programming language, but I also use various Linux tools.
Senior Architect
Netcompany | 2022 - Present
My current role is as a development lead on a project for P&O Ferries. In this role I am reviewing pullrequests, assisting developers, clarifying questions with the customer and coding parts of the solution. I am also involved in discussions about the architecture with the principal architect on the project, and talk to our operations team about environments, secrets and monitoring. I started on this project in march 2024.
Before the P&O project, I had been working on the Airhart project for Copenhagen Airports since I started in Netcompany. During my time as a Senior Architect on the Airhart project I had three primary areas of focus: integration, business rules and monitoring. The work involved close collaboration with customer experts to clarify and fix details in the business rules.
As Airhart went into production, I got involved in debugging and solving production incidents. During this process, I became more aware of monitoring through metrics and the quality of logs. We use Prometheus metrics in our applications, which are scraped and are used to trigger alarms. I have been the primary stakeholder of alarms and metrics on the functional team, coordinating with the operations team about improvements to the alarms.
I had been one of the main developers of integrations so when an expansion project was being planned, I was involved in analysing and estimating a large update to the technical landscape around Copenhagen Airport.
During my time at the Airhart project, it has grown to over 100 people and shrunken back down to 6 developers. During our cut over, I was one of the 4 people whom had the responsibility to handle all the incidents, while the employees in the Airport got used to the new product running without any support from the legacy system.
Consultant
Netcompany | 2020 - 2021
I started at Netcompany on 1. August 2020, after I had completed my thesis in June. I was immediately put on the Airhart project, which is a project Netcompany has delivered for Copenhagen Airports. The project replaced a big part of the airports existing IT infrastructure, meaning a big part of the work involved talking to the IT experts at the Airport to get domain knowledge, and getting information about the specific components which we were replacing.
I was a Team Lead for a few months in the spring of 2021, for a team of 8 developers. I stopped as a Team Lead because I prefer a more technical role. I got a lot of praise from my immediate manager for my performance as a Team Lead. Next, I became a "Technical Quality Pilot" for the inbound integrations. At the time, 6 people were developing integrations, meaning that I had the responsibility for PR reviews and to keep a general overview of the state of development in the area. Being a "Technical Quality Pilot" additionally included improving the design and writing general patterns for the common parts of the integrations. At this point, I started being more involved in the outbound integrations, and I was a "Technical Quality Pilot" for those for some time as well.
Customer Service
Skolemælk | 2014 - 2015
In between high school and University, I worked as a customer service employee at Skolemælk. The work involved answering emails, helping people place orders and correct existing orders. Due to a new software system, Skolemælk received several thousand emails from customers needing help with the new system. I worked full time for most of the time from summer 2014 to summer 2015, with the exception of 3 months in South East Asia with a friend.
